How to create WooCommerce Coupons with default settings?
Below are the steps to create WooCommerce coupons with the default settings.
Step 1: Adding new coupon
From the WordPress dashboard, navigate to Marketing > Coupons and proceed with Add Coupon to create a new coupon in your WooCommerce store.
Provide a coupon code and a coupon description for your new coupon.
You can create automated coupon codes by using the Generate coupon code tool.
Step 2: Coupon general settings
Scroll down to the General tab under the Coupon data meta box.
Choose a discount type for your coupon. Enter the discount amount or discount percentage.
Enable the Allow free shipping option to grant free shipping to your customers.
Set a coupon expiration date.
Step 3: Setting coupon usage restrictions
Let’s set some restrictions for the coupon.
Set a minimum and maximum spend limit to avail of the coupon.
Check the individual use only and exclude sale items checkboxes to restrict the coupon from being used with other coupons or on sale items.
Choose the products or product categories to which the coupon can be applied. Selecting none will make the coupon available for all products.
You can also set the coupon usage limits to limit the total number of times the coupon can be used.
Publish the coupon to make it available on your WooCommerce store.
Step 4: Testing the coupon
We have created a percentage discount coupon with a 10 percent discount on all products in the cart. Now let’s test the coupon.
Go to any product page and proceed to checkout.
Enter the coupon code in the provided area and click on Apply Coupon.
Here you can see our coupon discount of 10% is applied.

How to create advanced coupons in WooCommerce?
The following steps will guide you through the process of creating advanced coupons in WooCommerce.
Step 1: Installing the plugin
From your WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins > Add New.

Step 2: Adding new coupon
Go to Marketing > Coupons > Add Coupon.

Choose the General tab under the Coupon data meta box.

For this guide, let’s choose percentage discount as the discount type.
There are three additional options available here when compared with the default options.
- You can set a coupon start date along with the coupon expiration date.
- There is an auto-apply coupon checkbox that will make the coupon automatically applied at the checkout when enabled.
- Finally, you can choose where you want the coupon to be available, either on the My Account page or the Checkout page.

Step 4: Advanced coupon conditions
Go to the Usage Restrictions tab.
